UPDATE:  The DCHS Concert Band attended the East Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association Concert Festival on Thursday, March 11 at the University of Tennessee where they received ratings of SUPERIOR from all three judges on their stage performance and a SUPERIOR rating in sight-reading.

The DMS 7th/8th Grade Band attended the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association Concert Festival on Wednesday, March 10 at the University of Tennessee where they received ratings of EXCELLENT from all three judges on their stage performance and a rating of SUPERIOR in sight-reading.

Congratulations to all the band members and Dade County Director of Bands, Mr. Chris Chance.

The Dade County High School Weight Lifting Team competed in the North Georgia Area Qualifying Tournament this past weekend at Lambert High School in Forsyth, Georgia. 

Dade competed against 20 other high schools from all classifications and finished 6th overall.  Placing at the event were Tyler Wright (3rd in the 190-200 pound class), John Hampton (4th in the 205-225 pound class), and Nick Lawson (5th in the heavy weight division).

Tyler's third place finish will allow him to defend his 2009 AA state title at Hawkinsville High School on Saturday, March 20th.
